The short version: your travels stay yours, be kind, and only post what you're allowed to.

Using WroteAbout

WroteAbout is run by Adsy LLC (Wyoming, USA). You need to be at least 18 to make an account. Keep your sign-in email to yourself: anyone with access to it can sign in as you. One person per account.

Your content is yours

Your map, trips, stories and photos stay yours. You let us store them and show them to the people you've chosen (see Privacy), and make the images you ask for, like your share card. That's all; we don't use your content for anything else. When you delete it, that permission ends.

What you can post

• Your own photos and words, or ones you have permission to use.
• Nothing illegal, hateful or harassing, and nothing that puts someone in danger.
• Nobody else's private details, like where someone lives, without their say-so.
• Recommendations and paid-for mentions are fine when they're honest: the recommendation block always carries a line saying whether you were paid.

If something breaks these rules we may take it down, and for serious or repeated cases close the account.

What isn't allowed

WroteAbout is for your travels. These don't belong on a blog here, however they're dressed up:

• Gambling and betting.
• Adult or sexual content.
• Drugs, pills and "pharmacies".
• Get-rich schemes, crypto tips, loans and quick money.
• Selling links, or posts written to carry links to someone's site.
• Someone else's words or photos passed off as yours.
• Hate, threats or harassment of anyone.

We remove content like this without warning, and accounts that post it can be banned. Seen something that shouldn't be here? Press Report under it, or write to hello@wroteabout.com.

Limits

To keep spam out, one internet connection can make a few new accounts a day, and one account can publish up to 10 new stories a day. Editing has no limit.

The service

WroteAbout is free. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or perfect, so keep your own copy of anything precious (download your data any time). As far as the law allows, we're not liable for losses from using it. We may change or stop features; if we ever close WroteAbout, we'll give you time to download your data first.

Leaving

You can delete your account whenever you like.

The legal bits

These terms fall under the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and its courts handle any disputes. If you live in the EU or the UK, you keep any stronger protections your own consumer law gives you. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before they apply. Questions: hello@wroteabout.com.
